Great sci-fi has something new to say, but so far Starfield's main idea seems to be go bigger, and I've been burned by that one too many times. Maybe Bethesda's just saving the really good stuff for next year, or maybe the bits of story and dialogue it teases will be enough to carry the whole game on its shoulders. Procedurally generated planets I've seen before assault rifles and shotguns firing off in a gussied-up version of a base I shot my way through in Mass Effect 15 years ago a UI largely allergic to color or flair. In this next generation role-playing game set amongst the stars, create any character you want and explore with unparalleled freedom as you embark on an epic journey to answer humanity’s greatest.
provide tons of good press to the developer and publisher as it looks to.

The trailer for Bethesda Softworks Starfield has everyone in agreement over. With Oblivion, Bethesda more than doubled the size of the map to 57 square kilometers, but it felt like a generic fantasy world by comparison. Read our Sunsetting the Launcher & Migrating to Steam page or browse our migration articles on our help portal. Bethesda's most celebrated RPG, Morrowind, is roughly 24 square kilometers-you can jog across it in an hour, but every location feels alien and unique and memorable in a way Bethesda hasn't replicated since. Starfield is also missing from Xbox's official Gamescom plans despite the publisher saying it would offer 'updates on some announced games' instead of revealing brand new titles at the event.
